The LEGO and Star Wars collaborations have been popular since the original game was released in 2005. With the latest edition being the 2016 release The Force Awakens, anticipation has been high for another addition to the series, especially one spanning all nine feature films.
Originally slated for a 2020 release date, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has unfortunately been delayed indefinitely for reasons undisclosed by it’s creators.
A scheduled release date of October 20, 2020 was pushed back in August, 2020. The rescheduled release date of Spring 2021 was also postponed by the developers on April 2nd, 2021.
LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Latest News
As we pass the two year mark from the original announcement in June 2019, the lack of updates on the game’s development continues to frustrate the fans of the series desperate for any scraps of news.
Warner Bros. Studios and TT Games remain quiet regarding their game, while the subreddit dedicated to LEGO Star Wars games contains predictions of release dates ranging from late 2021 to the next century.
The title has hit several snags in its development. The launch was first pushed back from the originally scheduled 2020 to a Spring 2021 release date when the first gameplay trailer of the Skywalker Saga was released in August of 2020.
Fans awaiting The Skywalker Saga heard very little until the Spring date was pushed back indefinitely on April 2nd. With no new expected release date given by the developers, we are still unsure on when the game is likely to come out.

The Skywalker Saga Release Date Rumours and Speculation
There have been some stories about TT Games possibly being sold by Warner Bros. Games, which has caused even more concern for those patiently awaiting The Skywalker Saga. However, Warner Bros. went on to make a statement to say this was untrue and TT Games will remain part of part of their company, which hopefully will put LEGO Star Wars fans at ease.
Now it may be a stretch to consider this news, but one of the latest updates noticed by fans was the change of some of the game’s icons on the Steam store page.
Again, not a huge change, but could this mean they are gearing to start a fresh marketing campaign as the game nears completion? Honestly, this is just speculation, but it’s better than nothing right?
What updates could we hear in the future?
When are we likely to hear any news on when we’ll be able to get our hands on the Skywalker Saga? The next opportunity to hear something would probably be at Gamescom, which takes place between the 25-27th of August.
Warner Bros. And TT Games have not been named as official partners of Gamescom. However, when the gameplay trailer was released at last year’s Gamescom, the LEGO Skywalker Saga developer’s participation wasn’t announced until a week or so before the event took place.
With this year’s event roughly a month away at the time of writing, is there still a chance for fans to finally get their hands on the release date or at least some kind of news? Your guess is as good as mine.
